Similar to many European cities like Paris, Brussels and Lyon, Washington has a system of public bikes available. For a fee ($ 7 for 24 hours or $ 15 for 3 days) you can use your credit or debit card to take a bike from any station in the city. The first half hour of use is free, and after that you have to pay. To cycle for free, just keep watching the clock and always return your bike before the end of the first 30 minutes. The city is a bit hilly, but there's nothing impossible for a keen cyclist!
