Capilla de Ntra. Sra. del Destierro (Capela de Nossa Senhora do Desterro)

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Exile is in the north of Póvoa (belonging to Ribamar-San Jose parish). I don't know when it was built but it seems to be fairly recent. The church has 3 naves and a high bell tower in the center of the facade above the front door. Inside it has a vaulted ceiling and the walls are decorated with a tiled plinth. Around its perimeter are small chapels with neoclassical altarpieces in dark wood and the main altar is preceded by a large arch. This chapel celebrates one of the most traditional festivals in Póvoa de Varzim - the Feast of Our Lady of the Exile (mid-June).
