Senhora das Dores Church

The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows (Capela de Nossa Senhora das Dores) is classified as one of the Properties of Public Interest and it's located in the plaza of the same name. It's a Baroque church, which was built in the 18th century on the spot where a small chapel dedicated to the Lord on the Mount once stood (Senhor do Monte). Architecturally it's interesting because it's hexagonal and has six small outdoor chapels, in which you can see sculptures alluding to the sorrows of the Virgin (these are upwards of 1,866!).
