Fun for adrenaline-junkies
Risk-junkies have to try canyoning at least once. It really is an adrenaline rush! It's an incredible mix of feelings that makes you forget everything for a few hours and you end up with an indescribable feeling of bodily peace.
The best part of Spain for canyoning is Huesca. There are incredibly dizzying canyons in Huesca, but if you're a first-timer perhaps it's better to start somewhere a bit simpler and easier, like Cantabria. Cantabria has several rivers that have a beautiful river gorges for canyoning.
You have different canyons for different ability levels. One of the simplest is the Saja River, located in the Reserva de Saja natural park. The best thing about this area is that people with varying skill levels can do it since the more complicated areas can be bypassed on foot (this is not the case in most canyons, where once you start there's no going back). This was the reason we decided to canyon down this ravine. We were quite a large group and there were people who were somewhat hesitant or timid and others who were gung-ho for adventure.
