Lively Place

During the low season, in the small towns round Lake Como, almost nothing stays open, and we discovered this site by mere chance. Up a narrow street, we saw a door with spotlights and a light on a large bottle of wine so we went up there shortly after we realised that it is the meeting place for the inhabitants, and that for the rest of afternoon they would be sheltered from the cold in their homes. Until then we had not seen anyone around town. It has stone walls and a small bar at the entrance that is filled with with dishes and snacks that you eat at your leisure, there are bottle on the walls.

On the floor above, there is another small place with a bar and stools with high tables, there is one stone cupboard in another room with jams, sauces and wines for sale, and on the top floor there is terrace used in the good weather. It is not a typical restaurant, but rather a warehouse or canteen (as the name suggests), to taste Italian wines that they offer, and enjoy some snacks. Parmesan cheese and the selection of snacks they served us was fantastic-this is a lively place!
