María Carmen García Moraleda
Canterbury
Canterbury Cathedral dates from 597dC, over 1,400 years old and is the Mother Church of the Anglican faith. The ship perpendicular, the XII century Gothic choir, elaborate stained glass and Romanesque crypt are some of the salient points of the cathedral. It is one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've seen, the first impression is of grandeur. Its stained glass windows have had to be replenished throughout the centuries. It has many rooms downstairs that were used to shelter pilgrims, now empty, but imagine how they lived during that period.
