Sewu Temple

To visit the temple of 'Candi Sewu,' we went on the little train in Prambanan. Candi Sewu is a Buddhist temple undergoing restoration, so there were stones everywhere and bamboo scaffolding around some of the structures. The temple was built in the year 850 and originally consisted of a central temple surrounded by various small temples. It's absolutely, breath-takingly quiet. This 9th century Hindu temple wasbuilt by the Sanjava dynasty (the resort was damaged by the earthquake in 2006).
