Canazei Address

5 reviews of Canazei

Really enchanting place

Excellent

One of the most fun and charming ski experiences I've ever had was definitely in Canazei. There are miles of slopes for every level, a snowpark, and you can actually ski on the ice of the Marmolada. There warm and cozy mountain huts on the slopes where you can duck in and try some of the regional dishes from the Dolomites. Davero is a good place for those who still haven't gotten the hang of skiing and those who prefer a little shopping and quiet village life. I can't wait to go back.

Canazei is a lovely place!

Excellent

To see it now, with its decorated homes, pointy spires of the churches, and the old barns that smell of wood and history, you wouldn't imagine that it was once a swamp. The origin of the Latin name "cannacetum" is reeds! Canazei (1465mt., 1910 inhabitants) lies on the banks of the Avisio river and after World War II became the best-known tourist resort of Val di Fassa and one of the most important of the Dolomites as a whole.

Canazei is literally surrounded by the majestic Dolomites: the powerful Sella Group (3152 mt.) dominates the landscape on one side and on the one hand the Gran Vernel (3058 mt.). Then you have the Marmolada (3342 m.), the Queen of the Dolomites.

The road of the Dolomites, essential to the development of tourism in the region, combines Bolzano and Cortina and has many stretches with incredible views like the Sella Pass (2244 mt.) and Fedaia (2056 mt.). The entire area extending from the sunny plains of Ronch down to gorges of Alba and Penia, took its name from Canazei, the first town to have been created.

WINTER: In winter, Canazei is the 'real' capital of skiing located right in the heart of the Sella Ronda and the Dolomiti Superski, the largest ski area in Europe. It has over 1200 km of slopes and with four districts: Belvedere, Ciampac, Col Rodella, and Marmolada, all easily reachable from the village.

SUMMER: In summer, however, it's a paradise for hikers: you can go for pleasant walks in the green meadows and ancient forests, try some high-altitude trekking, climb historic peaks, and, for the most courageous, even try paragliding. There's also a brand new bike path for a bit of adrenaline. Canazei has lots of pubs, restaurants, and sports facilities so it's the ideal destination for a holiday in the mountains!

EVENTS:"Te anter i Tobie" (second weekend of July), "Dolomiti Skyrace" (mid-July), "Great Day by d'Ista "(folk festival that brings together all the Ladin Dolomites during the first weekend of September) and "San Nicolo and Krampus" (the days before and after December 8th), "Ladin Carnival" (starting January 17), "Sella Ronda Ski Marathon" (mid-February), "Canazei Night Event" and finally the "Destroy the Winter," the last event before the end of ski season.

Well, Canazei speaks for itself

well, Canazei speaks for itself. Both for young people and adults and families, has it all. From cinema to the ice rink, from disco to Pubs, shops of all kinds and the cable car to the ski slopes, connected with the tour of the Sella Ronda. Surely we will return!
