Small, simple, and clean
We reserved Hostel Camino online. I'm fascinated by how such a small guesthouse can have such great online marketing. It's installed on the fourth floor of a building in Calle Hortaleza, just steps from Gran Via. It's a great location, in a quiet place, while still being very close to the nightlife district of Chueca, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The lady who looked after us was very nice, although she took a long time to register our details, give us towels, and explain how the internet worked ... the rooms are small and simple but clean. The prices were very low - 35 euros per night for three people in such a central area of Madrid was fine with me.
