Camaldoli Hermitage

L'Eremo di Camaldoli è un luogo lontano dal mondo, raggiungibile tramite una strada tortuosa che conduce ad un piazzale dove si trova l'ingresso. Per meglio capire la struttura di questo luogo è possibile fare una camminata lungo le sue mura, un perimetro fuori del quale domina la natura e i pendii sono ammantati da quegli abeti bianchi che furono la ricchezza dei monaci camaldolesi che qui hanno vissuto. Davanti alla facciata si può ammirare la 'Porta Filosofica', opera bronzea di Claudio Parmiggiani, che rappresenta la continuità tra la vita e la morte. La visita degli interni è guidata, si viene accompagnati nei chiostri del piccolo monastero, in visita alla cella di San Romualdo e della chiesa dove oltre i pregevoli decori si trova anche un altare realizzato in ceramica invetriata dai Della Robbia. Il borgo dove vivono i monaci e gli eremiti non è accessibile.

Un tuffo nella storia della vita monastica assolutamente da sperimentare in questo magico posto del Casentino.
