Marilo Marb
cultural site
The Calaceit Tower is another of the watchtowers found in Torrox Costa. It was built in the fifteenth century, and was used to protect the population from constant pirate attacks. It is located three kilometers from Torrox and is forty meters tall. Although it was declared a cultural site, it still shows no signs of restoration, although a portion of the retaining wall that backs onto the road has been locked to prevent the collapse of stones on it. Because of its location, the view is spectacular and you can see the Mediterranean on a clear day.
