The Cala Rossa is a little bit of the Caribbean found in the Med. With crystal clear waters it is a great spot for snorkeling. There are plenty of fish; brightly colored wrasse and dinner table varieties including stripped mullet, anchovy and bream. We were also lucky enough to see a large octopus blending in with a rock. The island is surrounded by meadows of Neptune grass. This sea grass has an important role in the marine ecosystem and is one of reasons for the island having protected area status.
To get there we took the hydrofoil from Trapani and then hired bicycles from the port.
