Cal Pons

Cal Pons, en la localidad barcelonesa de Puig Reig, es seguramente la colonia textil más interesante de Cataluña desde el punto de vista monumental. La fundó en el año 1875 la familia Pons. En ella hay que ver la iglesia neogótica, el convento, los jardines, las torres, el chalet del director y por supuesto las características viviendas familiares de los trabajadores. Esta fábrica estaba dedicada a la producción de hilados y tejidos de algodón. Más tarde también produjeron toallas hasta que se cerró en el año 1992.

Cal Pons in the Barcelona town of Puig Reig, is surely the most interesting textile colony of Catalonia from the monumental point of view. He founded in 1875 the Pons family. It must see the neo-Gothic church, the convent, the gardens, the towers, the villa of the director and of course family housing characteristics of workers. This factory was dedicated to the production of cotton yarn and fabrics. Later also they produced towels until it closed in 1992.
