Cheapest way to explore Bangkok
There are two types of urban buses in Bangkok: those with air conditioning and those without. Among those without, they are subdivided into bus, minibus and micro-bus, depending on the size. The lines are identified by numbers and colors, and the network is quite complex but surprisingly easy to use. In any tourist office and most SkyTrain stations, you'll find very practical maps of the city's public transportation networks (including boats). Those without air conditioning cost between 10 and 20 baht, and those with it are between 20 and 40. For example, the first airport Skytrain station (On Nut) is the yellow line, the number 552, and costs 34 baht because it has air-conditioning.
