Building Simeon

El edificio Simeón es para mi gusto uno de los más bonitas obras de arquitectura de la època modernista y está localizado justo en el corazón de la ciudad olívica en la emblemática Puerta del Sol, junto al popular [poi=48328]"Sireno"[/poi] que se ve en la fotografía. Antiguamente creo recordar que estaba ubicado el banco Simeón, de ahí su nombre. En la actualidad en la planta baja del edificio se encuentra una gran superficie dedicada a drogueria-perfumería y el resto dedicada principalmente a viviendas. Este edificio modernista se sitúa a pocos pasos de la peatonal calle de Príncipe y, por tanto del centro comercial y financiero de la ciudad. La espectacular obra data del año 1911 y su autor fue el arquitecto Manuel Gómez Román.

The Simeon building is in my opinion one of the most beautiful works of architecture of the modernist period and is located right in the heart of the city Oliver in the emblematic Puerta del Sol, next to the popular "Sireno" seen in the photograph. I remember that formerly was located Simeon bank, hence its name. Currently on the ground floor of the building it is a large area dedicated to drogueria-perfume and the rest dedicated to housing. This modernist building is located a few steps from the pedestrian street of Prince and therefore the commercial and financial center of the city. The spectacular work dates from 1911 and its author was the architect Manuel Gómez Román.
