The town at the end of the world
Thanks to a recommendation by the manager of the hotel where we stayed for the curious path we set out to do this summer, around the figure of Mary Magdalene, discovered this strange and enigmatic place in the Languedoc. Bugarach has grown from an unknown village to a place known internationally because according to legend, newage prophecy or history, this town will be the only point saved from Apocalypse in December 2012 ;-). These stories aroused our curiosity, so we took the car and went to the town. Well ... a hit. The way to get in is through a tortuous mountain road full of vegetation that only leads to ...
Bugarach, a bypass road for reaching the village. We were "hyped", full of expectations about this magical place. Place of legends, esoteric UFO confluence, and a thousand and one fantasies ..., it deserved our visit. And to say ... well worth it, 100% recommended because it has beautiful scenery and architecture in accordance with its fame. Bugarach is not just a town, but also the highest peak in the area. When you get close you start getting caught up in the fantasy, because The clouds, the sun, the sunset, play with the lights and colors, and suddenly all the legends seem to come true. We did not know anything about this population, a pity that it is less well known compared to other populations, but we came. Upon arriving, we left the car in a small car park in the village, and as the figure of Bugarach Peak impresses, aided by a lake that gives the bucolic touch, very artistic. We soon realized that it is a "special" place, different, perhaps, aware and witness to their own legends and though their stories are protected from prying eyes, we decided to delve into its mysteries. The streets are perfect for photographing details, some houses suddenly appear abandoned and others seem totally full of life. Here, nothing is as it seems ;-) Still, some evenings we smile when thinking of this wonderful experience, magical, mysterious, special, but especially beautiful, harmonious ..., Bugarach has remained forever in our hearts, come to visit, perhaps in December since it is currently impossible to find accommodation ';-).
