Sleep in a Mapuche hut
I came to the Mapuche hut by chance, after a long journey on unchartered buses and stone paths. The experience was the most magical I have ever found in Chile. The Mapuche culture is very rich, and all their cosmology is directly related to their own hut. I slept in a Mapuche hut, with the door facing Budi Lake to the east, and at sunrise one bright spot of sun shot through the roof of the hut from start to finish. The indigenous Mapuche people relate all life to the four seasons and the four gods who take care of Mother Earth, because for them, the most important thing in this life is Mother Earth.
