A very pleasant restaurant
Bryant Park Grill Restaurant has become a gastronomic meeting place in the most vital park of New York. It's another place that dispels the myth that in the United States, only hamburgers are eaten. The place is well decorated and very pleasant as it faces the park with a large window. It's also quite spacious. The menu has a lot to offer, including brunch. The portions are large and the cuisine is American with a touch of sophistication. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the service is, as always, prompt and courteous. Many of the entrées are around $25 so it isn't exactly cheap. But something equivalent in Europe would, without doubt, warrant a much higher bill. There's also an extensive wine list with many options from North America so it's a good opportunity to taste something little known on this side of the Atlantic.
We tried the Steamed Atlantic Salmon Filet with braised spaghetti squash flavored with maple syrup, parsnip puree, and beurre blanc Pinot Noir, Grilled Lemon Chicken served with arugula, tomato, capers, grilled Yukon gold potatoes, asparagus and preserved lemon, Steak Frites which included tender grilled hanger steak and hand cut French fries, Grilled Mahi Mahi layered with arugula, vine ripe tomatoes, crispy pancetta, garlic aioli and Seared Yellow Fin Tuna Nicoise with market tender greens, haricot vert, artichokes, shaved fennel, red onion, vine ripe tomatoes, hardboiled eggs, garlic aioli and black olive tapenade. As for desserts, we had excellent New York Cheesecake and a scrumptious Apple Pie with good coffee.
