Brighton Beach

I really wanted to to go to Coney Island, where many movies have been shot. We went midweek, knowing that the park would be closed, but it didn't matter - we just wanted to see the area with our own eyes. Brooklyn is the working-class neighborhood where so many great basketballers and musicians come from, and I wasn't disappointed at all. It was a spot of calm in New York. We spent a quiet morning strolling the boardwalk, people-watching. A fantastic, quiet corner of this crazy city.
