On our trip to Austria and specifically Tirol we were lucky our friends were Tyrolean guides and took us to this charming Tyrolean village in Rodel. The Rodel is a traditional type of sled. One of the many traditions is to go with your family or friends to one of the many mountains of Tirol, walk up to the top of the mountain dragging your Rodel and once up, dine or drink traditional Tyrolean Schnapps. After filling their stomachs, and perhaps after being a little drunk, they all descend the mountain on their Rodels. This can also be done in the evening, which adds to its charm, both for the view and because it is more risky.
