Impressive temple
Braga is the 5th most populous city in Portugal and its spectacular old town is dotted with baroque churches, palaces and museums, it's small, quiet and ideal to visit on foot. Braga was a powerful medieval ecclesiastical center (hence the name 'Portuguese Rome') and its religious architecture is amazing. A visit to the beautiful cathedral is inescapable, not only is the temple is impressive, but it's cloister is an interesting museum. Braga is easy to discover, beyond the Praça da República, axis of the city's urban structure, several arcades provide access from the old town wall, inside, a cobbled, pedestrian street connects major buildings.
