Box of Dead Ponce
THE natural system understood by the Caja de Muerto Island, Cayo Cayo Barbary Morrillo and found about six miles south of Ponce is located in one of the driest and most arid area of Puerto Rico. Bathed by the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, Caja de Muertos accumulated a wide variety of natural recuersos framed in a spectacular scenic landscape on the Island are mangroves, coral reefs, sandy beaches, rocky shores, caves, nesting areas, dry forest (cacti, thorny shrubs cover the surface of the island) and other resources. The island features a lighthouse, which is a great historic monument built by the Spanish goverment in 1880.
