The Whitehouse Hotel is located right in the heart of Manhattan, in the Lower East Side in the NoHo district. Starting at $25 a night, this is one of the cheapest places to stay in Manhattan. You should know that the rooms are very simple, with little more than a bed and a lamp. The shower and toilets are shared. The accommodations are, indeed, closer to "cabins" than real rooms. That said, the hygiene of the place is impeccable. Indeed, this is a big step up in the Bowery district, which used to be considered "cut-throat" but has now shifted to have a more chic and trendy feel. The hotel is close to the former CBGBs, which for fans of rock is a great stop.
