Bosques de Ample

El pasado fin de semana - ayer - descubrimos, buscando una cima bastante conocida pero no fácil de alcanzar, un curioso paso, impresionante por cierto, que conforma lo que se llama el Paso del Valle de Ample, cubriendo densos bosques, diversas fuentes de agua, montañas de impresión y mucha naturaleza con historia ... una de mis temáticas predilectas. La entrada a este paso se hace por los bosques de Ample, para lo cual tenemos que pasar Callander, en dirección norte camino a las Tierras Altas (Highlands), hasta que llegamos al lago Lubnaig. Tras pasar los dos puestos oficiales para pasar un día en el lago o bien acampar hay un recodo, con curva pronunciada que responde al nombre de Ardchullarie More, es ahí donde debemos detener nuestro auto. Un sendero bien indicado pero bastante complicado - con piedras muy resbaladizas, un paso muy angosto, árboles caídos y tener que pasar un riachuelo como bien podamos - nos lleva bosque adentro. Unos árboles enormes nos indican que estamos en un bosque de gran antigüedad, pero a medida que andamos el bosque se hace más denso y disminuye la luz, lo que crea un efecto algo claustrofóbico que en la antigüedad se usaba para hacer creer a posibles invasores o malhechores que se trataba de un bosque hechizado ... y funcionaba. Problema que encontramos, varios cruces de sendero, y desaparición del mismo por unos 100 metros, lo quer solucionamos con mapas y brújulas, pero pensando en que no todos llevan estos elementos, nos resultó un tanto peligroso. Tras llegar a lo más alto del bosque, un claro nos ofreció unas vistas privilegiadas a Loch Lubnaig, muy escénico. Paseo precioso por un bosque salvaje y no muy tocado que tras llevar 30 minutos nos condujo a Glen Ample o Valle Ample.
