Bodega Toribio presents...:
For those of us who’ve had the luck to visit Bodegas Toribio, we can stay that it’s simply one of the most memorable places on the Extremadura Wine Route. Here’s a clear example of a family-run winery in the heart of the Matanegra sub-region that was founded in the mid-20th century and has since dedicated itself to cultivating vines and creating fine wines.
The wines produced here are carefully tended, have their own personality, and are made in small, limited batches. This hard work under the leadership of Fernando Toribio, the project’s “alma mater,” has been rewarded by various wine awards both nationally and abroad. But having the chance to spend some time as a vinter at the side of Fernando is an experience you won’t soon forget. His passion for wine, charisma, and storytelling skills are incredible.
Recently, this winery has launched its “Torivín” brand of wine with a younger market in mind and aims to communicate the values of the wine world in a simple, friendly, and unstuffy way. The new facilities near the crianza winery are set amid spectacular fields of vines and lets visitors enjoy outdoor activities like buggy or horseback rides through the vines.
