Blue Lake

Ready to hike? Blue lake lies within the Indian Heaven Wilderness area of Washington. It's an expansive forested wilderness area in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest which straddles the crest of the Cascade range, with sub-alpine meadows and hundreds of lakes. To do this particular hike which weaves you through several beautiful lakes and scenic areas, begin at the Thomas Lake trailhead. Follow the trail through the regrowth and into the forest, and you'll reach the first cluster of lakes (including Thomas lake) in half a mile. You can't help but stop and admire the calm and fir-lined alpine lakes.
