Theatrical extravagance
This was the best dolphin show I have ever seen. It was a dramatic combination of animals and people. After 18 months in production and 9 months of construction at Dolphin Stadium, SeaWorld released "Blue Horizons" on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The show incorporates dolphins, pilot whales and a rainbow of exotic birds. The action takes place below and above the water. There is a cast of aerialists and acrobats dressed in bright costumes symbolizing the sky and the sea who are responsible for the air show. While these characters sail across the sky and rush the stage, the real stars of the show are under the surface.
The dolphins and pilot whales leap from the water. Then, crowned African cranes, black vultures and other birds fly over the audience. To create "Blue Horizons," SeaWorld collaborated with the most ingenious art experts, joining the theatrical extravagance with the feats of animals and trainers. The original soundtrack of "Blue Horizons" was recorded by the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
