Blackstone Glacier

Blackstone Glacier is situated on the west side of Prince William Sound on the outskirts of Whittier. It is only accessible by boat but the trip is worth it, because the views are spectacular. The glacier is huge and if you are lucky you can see how pieces of ice falling into the sea making a noise that seems like thunder, which is called "calving".
