Black Desert
The Black Desert of Egypt is situated relatively near the Bahariya Oasis, on the road that links the east of the country with Cairo. In a very large area, sand dunes have been scattered into small mountains which are covered in a blanket of basalt stones that have become dyed black. It is very curious see how the landscape changes as the road gains kilometers. It is usual to climb one of the hillocks to observe the landscape, and check the iron composition of the black stones, which if you hit them emit a metallic sound. The most common is access by private car (rented or a tour) because the minibuses, which travel to or from the capital, do not have an established stop in the area, logically.
