Birthplace of the Poet Salvador Rueda

In Benaque, a hamlet which is part of the town of Macharaviaya, you will find the home of the famous poet Salvador Rueda Malaga, born in 1857, and where he spent his childhood and much of his youth. Salvador Rueda was self-taught and of humble origins and was one of the most renowned poets of his time and idolized in countries like Cuba. The house museum is preserved exactly as when the poet lived there, with its fixtures, furniture etc.
