Phuket Big Buddha

Phuket is one of the most touristy destinations in Thailand, and has some really crowded beaches. If you want to have a quiet moment to yourself, then go to the southern part of the island, and not far from the village you'll find the Chalong Big Buddha. You can safely go by scooter. You can see this buddha from many parts of the island, as it's very big and sits on top of a hill. To get there, follow the red arrows that you'll see everywhere in the south of Phuket. The buddha is still under construction, and is covered with white Burmese alabaster. You can see the various stages of construction, photos and documents in the building nearby.
