Hotel D. Luis

We stayed at this hotel when we visited Coimbra, but if I'm honest, I can say that I would never stay here again. What attracted us was the price, especially as our child could stay for free. The hotel itself is fine - quite dated, but fine. The main problem is the location. They say it's just 2km from Coimbra, but the truth is that it's completely isolated, and unless you bring your own vehicle, you'll be entirely cut off. There are no restaurants, no bars, no nothing - so every night you'll have to take your car to go out for dinner, and you should be aware that the traffic in Coimbra is terrible, by both day and night.
