Stunning views from the top
Beinn Dubhchraig is a Scottish mountain situated about eight kilometers west of the village of Crianlarich, overlooking the north shore of the famous Loch Lomond and the natural park of the Trossachs. It is classified as a Munro, because it is more than 900 meters high (in fact, it is 978 m), and is close to another Munro, Ben Lui. The views over Loch Lomond are stunning, and change dramatically between summer and winter. But be aware that to climb it in winter, you'll need full equipment ... helmet, ice axe and crampons. To reach the top, park your car shortly before arriving at Tyndrum on the A82, and follow the path until it vanishes, at which point you'll need your map, compass and, to be on the safe side, GPS.
