A historic Brooklyn neighborhood
Bedford-Stuyvesant is one of the historic neighborhoods of Brooklyn. It dates back to 1930 and is now one of the largest concentrations of African-American population in New York. It consists of four separate areas: Bedford, Stuyvesant Heights, Ocean Hill and Weeksville. The architecture of the neighborhoods are similar, with terraced houses built in sandstone.
