« Le bassin Du commerce » est un lieu très spécial dans Cherbourg, puisqu'il au cœur même de la ville. Il est entouré de trafic routier (notamment avec le Pont Tournant) mais pourtant, quand on a eu la chance d'aller dans ce bassin (par voie maritime ou simplement en se promenant sur les passerelles du port) on se rend compte à quel point c'est un endroit paisible agréable et reposant.
De plus, de la route, on peut très souvent voir passer de nombreux bateaux ou avirons de mers. Autrement dit, ce lieu est un dépaysement total et une bouffée d’air frais…
