Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse

Located in southwest Mount Desert Island in Acadia National Park (Maine) is one the most famous lighthouses in the United States (a photo of it was actually chosen to be in on the national park's entrance pass in 2011). Accessible by car, you can visit between 9 am until sunset. There is a schedule though to keep people from disrupting the Coast Guard. I would recommend going at the end of the day, right before the sun sets.
