Basilica of St. Mary

This is not a cathedral, but almost. In fact, this basilica is absolutely stunning. Especially if, like us, you go at sunset, with the sun reflecting orange shadows on its facade. Construction began in the thirteenth century and it is one of the best examples of Catalan Gothic building work in the area. It is tucked away in the historic area of ​​Castelló d'Empuries.
