La Piazza di Basantapur è una delle più note e apprezzate di Kathmandu, e si trova nell'area della Durbar Square tra la Casa della Kumari, le mura meridionali del palazzo Hanuman Dhoka, Freak Street e Ganga Path. Un tempo frequentata da hippies e avventurieri oggi è la piazza "dei souvenir" tibetani e dei turisti, ma ci sono ancora qualche piccola guesthouse e una manciata di ristoranti per backpackers.
The Basantapur Square is one of the most well-known and appreciated in Kathmandu, and is located in the Durbar Square in the House of Kumari, the southern walls of the Hanuman Dhoka palace, Freak Street and Ganga Path. Formerly frequented by hippies and adventurers today is the square "souvenirs" Tibetans and tourists, but there are still some small guesthouse and a handful of restaurants for backpackers.
