Bar Restaurant Enbata
Enbata Restaurant and Bar is part of the Jauregui hotel, but you don't need to stay in the hotel to dine in the restaurant. When we visited Hondarribia, everyone wanted to go to a different place so we ended up at this restaurant by default. It was not on our list of recommended places to eat, because we have always been a little hesitant about hotel restaurants, but this is an exception. It was champion of the Guipuzcoa Pintxos Contest 2006. First, we had delicious pintxos at the bar and we then chose to sit at the bar to eat instead of in the restaurant, as it wa so nice and all of the tables were occupied.
The room was decorated in a marine style, with portholes, fog and wood. We had no idea what to choose, so we were guided by the maitre beans and had ham and tuna salad, beef steak with blue cheese and for dessert, cake and whiskey ice cream. The food was very good, with excellent, fast and friendly service and was great value for money overall.
