Bar Las Nieves

Cádiz es una ciudad hospitalaria, llena de alegría. Si algo distingue a esta pequeña ciudad es que los gaditanos siempre están en la calle, consecuencia de su carácter y de su excepcional clima. De ahí que una de las cosas que más sorprenda al viajero al llegar a esta ciudad trimilenaria sea el ambiente andaluz que se generan en sus bares. El bar Las Nieves no es precisamente uno de los más conocidos pero representa fielmente el espíritu gaditano y por ello es uno de nuestros bares favoritos cuando vamos a Cádiz. Está cerca del puerto, junto a la Plaza de la Candelaria, en una pequeña plazoleta que le da un poco de desahogo y le permite la terraza veraniega. Como se halla en una esquina tiene varias entradas. Dentro se divide en dos espacios, a lo largo de una de las fachadas una larga barra, imprescindible en esta zona andaluza donde es habitual comer a base de tapas así como realizar tertulias de cualquier cosa junto a una barra. En la otra parte del bar está el comedor. Es zona que mantiene la esencia gaditana, suelos de terrazo, mesas y sillas de madera, espacios alargados y separados entre sí. Como este bar se pueden encontrar muchos porque repiten el mismo esquema. La decoración se basa en fotografías de parroquianos famosos y vistas antiguas de Cádiz, carteles taurinos de otras épocas y una serie de cuadros con motivos florales. La cocina es especialmente tradicional, destacando los productos del mar cocinados al estilo gaditano. Sus precios son muy ajustados por lo que solemos comer en este bar cuando paseamos por Cádiz, normalmente a base de raciones y tapas.

Cadiz is a hospitable city, full of joy. If anything distinguishes this small town is that gaditanos are always on the street, because of its character and its exceptional climate. Hence one of the things that most surprised the traveler to get to this three millennium old city is the Andalusian atmosphere generated in its bars. The bar Las Nieves is not exactly one of the best known but faithfully represents the spirit gaditano and therefore is one of our favorite bars when we go to Cadiz. It is near the harbor, next to the Plaza de la Candelaria, in a small square that it gives a little relief and allows the summer terrace. As found in a corner has several entries. Inside is divided into two spaces, along one of the walls a long bar, essential in this Andalusian area where it is common to eat tapas based and perform togethers anything with a bar. On the other side of the bar is the dining room. It is an area that maintains the essence gaditana, terrazzo floors, wooden tables and chairs, and spaced elongated spaces. As this bar you can find many because they repeat the same pattern. The decor is based on photographs of famous patrons and old views of Cadiz, bullfighting posters of other times and a series of paintings with floral motifs. The kitchen is especially traditional, highlighting the seafood cooked to gaditano style. Their prices are very tight so we usually eat at the bar when we walk through Cadiz, usually based rations and tapas.
