This village beside the Trossachs Loch Lomond, is located in the district of Stirling and Glasgow. The name indicates that the origin of this settlement is very old, from early Celtic times and it refers to an ancient saint: San Maha. This town is one of the most important sites of the eastern shore of the lake. One can stay at the legendary Oak-Tree-Inn, where one can also enjoy a very good meal. It is known as the beginning of a famous route known as West Highland, ending at the famous Loch Ness. The village lies in a small bay full of ships, with a "lake bus" that leads to the central islands of the lake (as Inchcailloch) or other parts of the lake.
