Historic charm
In Madrid, our subway stations are all the same, so I was struck by the unique elements in some of the London Underground stations. Baker Street in particular is notable for its link to Sherlock Holmes. It has been open for over 100 years, and retains some historic charm, with lanterns hanging from the ceiling to illuminate the narrow walks lined with brick walls and wooden benches. The first time I went through this station, I hurried to take some photos, not realizing that I'd pass through it many times over the coming days, as it's an important interchange.
