Beautiful views
Lavagulin is the name given to three sites which, in order of age, are the bay, the distillery, and the village. The village really has nothing worth seeing, as it only contains housing built for the distillery workers. The bay has beautiful views, but is small and quite difficult to access. That explains the presence of the most historic castle on the island, Dunyvaig Castle, now ruined; it's a very well-defended location, so it must have been ideal for building fortifications in centuries gone by. The bay itself is a collection of rocks and small cliffs, with paths that you can follow to the ruins of the castle or to the sea.
