Architectural magnificence
In the heart of the city, this is possibly the most majestic building in the entire city of Preston. The original building was created in the late eighteenth century, and always had multiple uses, as Preston is the administrative capital of the county of Lancashire. In the mid-twentieth century, 1947, tragedy occurred ... a fire raged through the building, with its old wooden interiors, destroying it. So what stands today is a reconstruction. It shares its neo-classical lines with other city halls, like that in Manchester. Lovers of architecture should be sure to take a look.
