Avinyonet

Avinyonet of Puigventós, is a municipality in the Alt Empordà, in the province of Gerona, an Autonomous Community of Catalonia, Spain. It has about 1600 inhabitants and is a lovely quiet village. It has the Pyrenees as a background and its plain is fertile being irrigated by water and wind from Tramontana. Masía is a good place to stop and sample the local rich cuisine and its excellent raw materials (people usually have their own garden to grow vegetables). The truth is that time seems to stop in this wonderful town, located about 10 minutes from Figueres and very close to the coast and the border with France (La Junquera).
