Aviñón

One of the surprises at Avignon was, while walking around, we found a whole street full of movie posters, literally covering the facades of the street. We assumed it was some kind of cinematic event.

Avignon

Avignon in the Middle Ages was the Papel city along with Rome, when papel cities existed. Here you can see how they lived, how their society was distributed, their way of life, their power, etc. The palace is beautiful and conserved great.

It is also famed for their half-destroyed bridge, and the wines of their region. There is a very cheap but the south of France is usually a little cheaper than Paris. You can stay at a chain hotel for 60 euros double, no charm but well located. Account 12-15 euros for a restaurant meal, 4 for a drink on a terrace.

Stage in Provence

Tappa in Provenza

Important papacy in 1300, the most beautiful monument, imposing and majestic city is undoubtedly the Popes' Palace, erected to accommodate as many as 9 Popes. From the Pont Saint-Benezet (known more simply as the Bridge of Avignon) you can admire a magnificent panorama of the city and the river that runs through it.
