Aventureiro and the Biological Reserve da Praia do Sul as well as the Aventureiro Marine State Park, don't have a single accommodation, and this is nearly 100km by sea from Abrao, so it receives very few visitors. The reward is that you're in one of the most natural places on the island, surrounded by wildlife, with a beach made of fine white sand, with very clean water because it has no fishing activity, except for a small pier for mooring boats. In Aventureiro the most famous image is of Ilha Grande, the bent palm, a palm tree that grew horizontally to the beach until he changed his mind and was encouraged to go up.
The tree makes a right angle shape. We tried to climb the Pedra da Sundara, a lookout over the bay, but we were going at night and the roads were confusing, so we got back in time to see a great sunset on the beach. The dawn was as beautiful as a Aventureiro postcard, with white sand, huge rocks and the sea of electric blue. There were even enormous rocks just peeking out from behind the cliffs.
