Avenida Theatre Cinema

This 1950 modernist building was designed in the late 1940s by the architects Raúl César Caldeira and Alberto Cruzeiro, it opened on October 2, 1954 and was almost destroyed by fire in 1986. After almost 2 years of intense work and restoration efforts to preserve the modernist elements of the 50's original facade, in 2006 it became a multipurpose cultural space for up to 700 people, with an art school in the area of ​​music at the Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco and a large exhibition room. It's well worth visiting.
