Beatuiful guesthouse in Kailua
For our stay in Hawaii, we opted not not to stay at your usual anonymous hotel in the center Waikiki, but for a nice cottage in the idyllic town of Kailua. The guesthouse was located just a few hundred yards from the Kailua Beach and is about 30km from the international airport. The country-style cottage had 3 different apartments; one is occupied by the owners and the other two are available for rent. Common areas like the beautiful garden with a small heated pool and sun lounges and the patio with a gas barbecue are shared. We stayed there for a week and felt like we had the place to ourselves. We were the only renters at the time and we never ran into the owners.
The interior of the apartment has a double bedroom, a childrens' room, a large living room with 5 sofas, and a full kitchen. There was also a washer and dryer, stereo, and two TVs with DVD players. There is an outdoor table for al fresco dining and a selection of beach chairs, umbrellas, and surf boards. We arrived at night and found the place unlocked with the lights on and a welcome sign. The fridge was pre-stocked with everything for breakfast
From the cottage, you can walk to Kailua Beach in 5 minutes. The white-sand beach stretches for miles and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The price for a whole week? About 600 dollars. What a bargain!
