Charming area
Sometimes I find it funny when I hear people talk about Zahara de los Atunes, crowded in summer and deserted in winter, as a new, trendy beach bar. I discovered this place in 1977 when no one knew of its existence and only a few ventured onto its beaches. Since then my childhood, adolescence and other stages have gone on in this charming area. In fact my parents live there. It's funny that people do not visit Zahara and its beaches, with fictitious divisions created by locals such as: the local beach, the middle beach, the camping beach, the Germans' beach or Camarinal's beach. During my last stay there and on a sunny day, I returned to find, what used to be an almost deserted and unspoilt beach, with a stormy sea and savageness that didn't look anything like that image of summer peaceful swims and beach fun.
